Here are some basic guidelines for sending in homages so that this service can be managed and continued in the future:
- please send your offering as a plain text email without the '>' thingys that appear when forwarding a message or replying. We have to painstakingly remove every single > and reformat the paragraphs.
- Please don't send as an attached word document. A plain text email is easiest for us to work with. (If you are not sure what a plain text email is then please ask your local computer expert devotee what it means.)
- We don't expect everyone to be masters of the English language but please consider having someone proofread your offering especially if English is your second language.
- OFFERINGS WRITTEN COMPLETELY IN ALL CAPS HAVE TO BE COMPLETELY RE-TYPED. Please write them with normal capitalization.
- If you require any special formatting to be retained (as in poetry or free-verse homages) then please specify that in the subject of your email so that we don't accidentally sabotage your offering.
- If you could use a spell checker that would be great. Although they aren't very sanskrit friendly, they filter out the grossest spelling errors and typos. There is a free one here.
- Please don't wait until the last minute to send in your homage.
- Please don't send in your homage and then several messages afterwards asking to change this or that sentence. If you need to submit a revision then make the changes yourself and resubmit the whole thing. Better yet, proofread your offering and send it with confidence.
